Winter Barley - Malting & Feed
The UK produces around 5.8Mt of barley a year (based on a typical five-year average). The main markets are for human and industrial uses such as malting, brewing and distilling, which account for around a third of the UK barley crop, and animal feed, which accounts for around a half.
